About Barton Perkins

Barton Perkins is an artist and ceramicist whose creative journey began as a studio art major at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Continuing to hone his artistic voice, Barton earned an MFA in Creative Writing from American University, blending his passion for the visual and literary arts. As a dedicated ceramicist, he has pursued advanced study at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, where he deepened his expertise and explored new techniques in clay. Barton’s ceramic work is characterized by its tactile expressiveness and thoughtful craftsmanship, reflecting both his formal training and intuitive creativity. Outside the studio, he writes comics in his spare time, adding narrative depth to his artistic practice. Through a rich combination of art, ceramics, and storytelling, Barton Perkins continues to expand the boundaries of his work and engage audiences with imagination and originality
